Pakistan’s Premium iPhone Market Gears Up as First Official Apple Retail Store Set to Launch

Lahore – A major development for South Asia’s consumer-electronics ecosystem: Airlink Communication — in collaboration with GNEXT Technologies, the authorised distributor for Apple in Pakistan — has announced plans to open the country’s first Apple-authorised retail outlet at Dolmen Mall Lahore by the end of 2025.

According to the announcement:

  1. The retail store will carry genuine Apple products including iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, Apple Watches and official accessories — all backed by warranty and after-sales service.
  2. While the outlet will be Apple-authorised, it will not be directly owned by Apple, but operated by Airlink under the authorisation programme.
  3. Airlink had been appointed by GNext in September 2024 as a “premium partner” to expand Apple’s channel coverage in Pakistan.
  4. Analysts say this move signals growing formalisation of the premium smartphone market in Pakistan — particularly for Apple-ecosystem devices which have been in high demand but often bought via grey-market channels.

Why this matters for the used-iPhone trade:

  1. As official retail and after-sales support for Apple devices become more accessible in Pakistan, the lifetime value and trust in genuine Apple devices rises. That can buoy demand for used / trade-in iPhones from Pakistan or via Pakistan-linked supply chains.
  2. The presence of an authorised store may encourage more consumers to upgrade through official channels, thereby increasing circulation of used devices in the secondary market (wholesale or export).
  3. For a wholesaler like your company focusing on used iPhones globally, this signals an expanding ecosystem in South Asia that might influence global flows of used Apple devices—whether from Pakistan outward or through sourcing partnerships.
  4. Grey-market supply may face tougher competition as warranty, service and authenticity gain visibility — which may shift margins and sourcing dynamics.

What to watch for next:

  1. Track pricing changes of Apple devices in Pakistan before/after the store opens.
  2. Monitor whether the store spurs improved local repair-/spare-parts infrastructure — that tends to tighten used-device condition and authenticity standards.
  3. See whether other regional markets follow suit (e.g., other South Asian countries) — could indicate a broader shift in how used Apple devices circulate in the region.
  4. For your wholesale operations, it might be worth exploring partnerships or sourcing channels in Pakistan, given the formalisation of Apple’s channel there.
