One of the most requested features by users is finally here: WhatsApp is now officially available on iPad, bringing the full messaging experience to a larger screen for the first time.

The new iPad version supports all major WhatsApp features, including video and audio calls with up to 32 participants, screen sharing, and access to both front and rear cameras, making it ideal for both personal and group communication.

Designed to take full advantage of iPadOS capabilities, WhatsApp for iPad supports multitasking tools like Split View, Slide Over, and Stage Manager*, allowing users to message while browsing or collaborate on a group trip while on a call. It also works seamlessly with Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil, providing a smooth, productive user experience.

Powered by WhatsApp’s multi-device technology, the app keeps conversations synced across iPhone, Mac, and other linked devices, all while maintaining end-to-end encryption. Extra privacy features, such as chat lock, are included to ensure secure communication—even when the device is shared.

The app is now available for download on the App Store, and WhatsApp has stated that this is just the beginning, with more updates and features to come based on user feedback.

Stage Manager is supported on select iPad models including iPad Pro with M4, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd gen+), iPad Pro 11-inch (1st gen+), and iPad Air (5th gen+).
