It’s well-known that Tim Cook commands a substantial salary, fitting for the CEO of a company as valuable as Apple. But do you know exactly how much he earned? If not, there’s no need to worry. Every year, Apple files documents with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) detailing the compensation of its executives. According to these filings, Tim Cook performed well compared to 2022.

In 2022, Tim Cook received a base salary of $3 million from Apple, along with $83 million in stock awards and $13.4 million in other compensation, bringing his total to $99.4 million. However, in 2023, his total compensation was reduced to $63.2 million. This amount consisted of a $3 million base salary, $47 million in stock awards, $10.7 million in performance-based bonuses, and $2.5 million in other compensation, which included contributions to life insurance, vacation pay, security costs, and personal air travel expenses.

Despite earning substantial sums, Tim Cook is known for leading a modest lifestyle and has expressed his intention to donate his entire fortune to charity upon his passing. This demonstrates his lack of personal interest in accumulating wealth, making it somewhat ironic that Apple’s payments to him ultimately support charitable causes. How would you manage such a significant compensation package?
