The iPhone 15 Pro Max was the top-selling smartphone, followed by the iPhone 15 in second place and the iPhone 15 Pro in third. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 Plus also secured spots in the top ten, ranking fourth and eighth, respectively, giving Apple five entries in the top ten.

Similarly, Samsung had five models in the top ten, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra ranking fifth. Other Samsung models on the list included the Galaxy A15 5G (sixth), Galaxy A54 (seventh), Galaxy S24 (ninth), and Galaxy A34 (tenth).

According to a report by Counterpoint Research, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the top-selling model in Apple’s non-seasonal quarter for the first time. This accomplishment highlights a growing consumer preference for high-end smartphones. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro also featured prominently, reflecting the increasing demand for premium devices.

The report notes that the Pro line of iPhone models has become a crucial revenue driver for Apple, contributing over 60% of the company’s total sales value in Q1 2024. Alongside the iPhone 15 series, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 15 Plus also secured positions in the top ten best-selling smartphones list, ranking fourth and eighth, respectively.

In addition to Apple’s success, Samsung’s latest flagship Galaxy S24 series also performed well, with the Galaxy S24 Ultra ranking fifth and the base variant securing the ninth spot. The report attributes Samsung’s success to an early refresh of the series in 2024 and its advancements in generative AI. Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A-series further secured three spots in the top ten.

Overall, the Q1 2024 data shows that seven out of the top ten best-selling smartphones were premium models, indicating a trend toward consumers opting for high-end devices to ensure technological relevance over time.
