CUPERTINO, California—Apple today announced the results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2024, which ended on March 30, 2024. The quarterly revenue was $90.8 billion, 4% lower than the same quarter in the previous year. The quarterly earnings per share were $1.53.

“Thanks to our highly satisfied and loyal customers, the number of active Apple devices across all product categories and regions is higher than ever, leading to a quarterly record for earnings per share,” said Luca Maestri, Apple’s CFO. “Reflecting our confidence in Apple’s future and the value we see in our stock, our board of directors has authorized an additional $110 billion for share repurchases. Additionally, our quarterly dividend payout is increasing for the twelfth consecutive year.”

Apple’s board of directors has announced a cash dividend of $0.25 per share of Apple common stock, representing a 4 percent increase. The dividend will be payable on May 16, 2024, to shareholders of record as of the close of business on May 13, 2024. The board has also authorized an increase of $110 billion to the company’s share repurchase program.
