iPhone 16

Apple has officially announced that the iPhone 16 will be the first model specifically designed for generative artificial intelligence, allowing users to generate text and images using natural-language prompts. Both the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro will be available for pre-order starting Friday, with retail availability set for September 20.

Camera Control Button

A new camera control feature, accessible via a side button, introduces "visual intelligence," according to Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering. With a click, users can point their camera at a restaurant to pull up reviews, menus, and reservation options. The feature also identifies dog breeds, landmarks, and can even add events to your calendar.

Siri Enhancements

Siri is getting a boost, now able to pull information from text messages. For example, it can remind you of TV and music recommendations shared by friends or send photos to specific contacts automatically when prompted, like saying, “Send Erica the photos from Saturday’s barbecue.”

New Colors

The iPhone 16 lineup introduces new color options: white, black, teal, ultramarine, and pink. The phones come in two sizes: 6.1 inches for the iPhone 16 and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 16 Plus. The models feature multiple buttons, including the customizable Action Button, and a new camera control slider on the phone’s side that lets users adjust camera settings, such as depth of field, with just a touch.

Faster Processor

The iPhone 16 boasts a 17% increase in system memory bandwidth, a more powerful 40% faster GPU, and a glass-ceramic screen that Apple claims is 50% tougher than its predecessor, optimizing it for Apple Intelligence.

Same Price: Despite the upgrades, the iPhone 16 will start at $799, while the iPhone 16 Plus will be priced at $899.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max

The iPhone 16 Pro, Apple’s premium offering, comes packed with even more AI capabilities than the standard iPhone 16.

Larger Displays

The iPhone 16 Pro models now feature slightly larger screens, growing by 0.2 inches compared to last year’s versions. The Pro comes in at 6.3 inches, while the Pro Max boasts a 6.9-inch display, offering more room for viewing and interaction. Apple also announced that these devices will have the thinnest borders ever on an iPhone.

Improved Battery Life and New Colors

The iPhone 16 Pro now holds the title for the longest-lasting battery of any iPhone, ensuring more power throughout the day. It also introduces four new colors: white titanium, dark titanium, natural titanium, and desert titanium—a unique brownish tone.

4K Video Recording

The high-end iPhone 16 Pro allows users to record in stunning 4K resolution at 120 frames per second. Users can now apply slow-motion effects after recording, rather than adjusting settings during the action. Audio recording is also upgraded with spatial audio support and improved noise reduction, ensuring conversations are clearly captured amidst background noise.

Pricing

The iPhone 16 Pro is priced at $999, while the larger iPhone 16 Pro Max will be available for $1,199, as announced by Apple on Monday.

AirPods

Apple has introduced the latest addition to its AirPods lineup, which the company describes as its “most comfortable” version yet. Additionally, the AirPods Pro now feature a hearing aid function, pending regulatory approval.

New Design

The AirPods 4 have been redesigned using advanced modeling technology to achieve a better fit for users’ ears, enhancing comfort and wearability.

Updated Features

The AirPods 4 come with enhanced controls for playing and pausing music, answering calls, and now support USB-C charging through the case. They also incorporate features previously exclusive to the Pro model, such as active noise cancellation and a “transparency mode” that allows users to hear surrounding ambient sounds.

Pricing Options

The standard AirPods 4 will be priced at $129, while the version with active noise cancellation will be available for $179, as announced by Apple on Monday.

Hearing Aid Functionality

The new AirPods Pro will include an over-the-counter, clinical-grade hearing aid feature, along with a built-in clinical hearing test that users can access through their iPhones. Apple expects approval from the FDA and other regulatory bodies soon, with the hearing aid feature set to roll out in over 100 countries, including the U.S., later this month.

Apple Watch Series 10

Apple has unveiled its thinnest smartwatch to date, the Apple Watch Series 10, boasting the largest screen ever seen on an Apple Watch — 30% larger than its

predecessors.

Fresh Design

The Series 10 debuts with a sleek polished titanium finish in jet black, alongside stunning options in rose gold and silver.

Sleep Apnea Detection

One standout feature is the watch’s ability to detect sleep apnea, a potentially serious sleep disorder where breathing repeatedly stops and starts. The feature is pending FDA approval and is expected to roll out in over 150 countries later this month.

Rapid Charging

The Apple Watch 10 now offers quick charging, reaching up to 80% battery in just 30 minutes, with a battery life of up to 18 hours.

New Capabilities

Designed for adventure, the watch is water-resistant up to 20 feet and comes equipped with a water temperature sensor and depth gauge. It’s also tailored for snorkeling, providing direction and time tracking underwater.

Pricing & Availability

The Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399 and is available for pre-order now, with official availability beginning September 20.
